The Los Angeles Lakers used a huge second half to come-from-behind and beat the San Antonio Spurs, 89-85, in Game One of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday night.

Kobe Bryant, who scored just two points in the first half, unloaded after halftime to tally 27 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds.

The Spurs led by as many as twenty points in the third quarter, but the Lakers turned on the jets shortly after halftime to turn the game around.

Los Angeles took the lead for the first time in the final moments, and Sasha Vujacic clinched the victory with a pair of free throws with just 7.3 seconds left on the clock.

Bryant gave the Lakers their first lead on a pair of free throws with just a few minutes left, and hit a ten-foot fade-away with 35.0 seconds left to give L.A. a 89-85 victory.

The Lakers shot just 43% on the night, but held the Spurs to 40% shooting at the Staples Center. They also outscored San Antonio by eleven in the fourth quarter to spur the comeback.

Phil Jackson decided to double Tim Duncan in the second half, which without a doubt played a role in the turnaround.

Duncan finished with 30 points and 18 rebounds and Tony Parker added 18 points, 10 boards and 6 assists for the Spurs, who scored just seven points over the final eight minutes of the game.

Manu Ginobili struggled, going 3-for-14, with just 10 points in the loss.

Lamar Odom had issues as well, shooting 3-for-12, but he added 8 rebounds and 2 blocks to the 8 points he posted.

L.A.'s bench outscored San Antonio's 21-11 in Game One.

Game Two will be Friday night in Los Angeles as the Spurs look to even up the series.
