There was "chatter" surrounding Billy Donovan taking over as the next head coach of the Orlando Magic even before Donovan left the Chicago Bulls this offseason, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

Donovan once agreed to take over the Magic in 2007 before deciding to return to Florida.

The Magic would also be interested in hiring Dusty May should he decide to leave Michigan, according to sources.

It is expected, however, that May will return to Michigan after winning the national title.

The Magic were eliminated by the Pistons in Game 7 of the first round on Sunday. Current Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley was rumored to be a candidate for the Pelicans' open position.
