Miles Bridges, Hornets Discussing Contract

The Charlotte Hornets and Miles Bridges are holding talks on a new deal as he remains a restricted free agent.

There is optimism a deal between Bridges and the Hornets could be reached in the near future.

Bridges is expected to be suspended by the NBA for his no contest felony charge on a domestic violence incident. 

Bridges and Klutch Sports have been in contact with the Hornets and are are working together on Bridges' plans to work with local domestic violence groups and community organizations to start reacclimating himself to the Charlotte community.

During his three-year probation, Bridges will be required to complete 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling and 52 weeks of parenting classes and serve 100 hours of community service.

Ball will warm up before the game to determine if he's ready to play.

Ball sprained the ankle for a second time on Nov. 16 after first injuring it during a preseason game Oct. 10.

Paul Silas Passes Away At Age 79

Former NBA player and coach Paul Silas has passed away at the age of 79. His death was confirmed by members of his family on Sunday.

Silas had a 16-year NBA career. He played for the St. Louis and Atlanta Hawks, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets and Seattle SuperSonics. Throughout his career, Silas was considered one of the better rebounders and defenders in the league.

Silas won NBA titles with Boston in 1974 and 1976 and with Seattle in 1979. He also played in the 1972 and 1975 All-Star Games.

Following his playing career, Silas coached for 12 seasons. He led the San Diego Clippers, Charlotte and New Orleans Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers and then did a second stint with the rebranded Charlotte Hornets.

Silas' son Stephen is currently the head coach of the Houston Rockets.
