Carlos Boozer will pursue signing with a foreign team if the NBA season does not start on time.
"I think as players we have to look at this lockout as an unfortunate challenge, but one that can create other unique and positive opportunities," he said. "When I was part of Team USA that won Olympic Gold in Beijing, that experience changed my life in incredible ways.
"If the NBA season gets delayed or postponed, I plan on using those months to experience something similar to what I did in the summer of 2008. That's why, if the lockout continues, I definitely plan on playing overseas."
Boozer didn't reveal if he has a particular country in mind, but a source says the reference to Beijing reflects a desire to play in China.
Luol Deng has been cleared to play for Britain in the European Basketball Championships.
Deng says on his website Wednesday that "significant liability issues" have been overcome to allow him to play in the tournament.
He says "playing for GB is always important to me so I'm really glad we could resolve this. It has been a long process but a great team effort."

Joakim Noah has been having treatment in Los Angeles on his right ankle, but will join his French teammates later this week.
The French team's osteopath and the Bulls' physiotherapist are said to be happy that Noah's injury has responded well to treatment.
"After seeing the conclusions from the two specialists, the (Bulls) doctor should give his accord for Joakim Noah to return to the France team, without having to go to Chicago," the FFBB said Monday on its website.
