LeBron James believes his performance in upsetting the Golden State Warriors during the 2016 Finals allowed him to think of himself as the best player to ever play the game.

"That one right there made me the greatest player of all time," James said.

The Warriors had won 73 games and had a 3-1 lead against the Cleveland Cavaliers before their comeback.

"That's what I felt," James told friends and business partners Maverick Carter, Randy Mims and Rich Paul. "I was super, super ecstatic to win one for Cleveland because of the 52-year drought. ... The first wave of emotion was when everyone saw me crying, like, that was all for 52 years of everything in sports that's gone on in Cleveland. And then after I stopped, I was like -- that one right there made you the greatest player of all time.

"Everybody was just talking -- how [the Warriors] were the greatest team of all time, like it was the greatest team ever assembled," he said. "And for us to come back, you know, the way we came back in that fashion, I was like, 'You did, you did something special.' That's probably one of the only times in my career I felt like, oh, s---, like you did something special. I haven't had, really had time, to really, like, sit back and think, but that ... that was a moment."

Patrick McCaw officially joined the Cleveland Cavaliers after the Golden State Warriors declined to match the Cavs' two-year, $6 million offer sheet.

The 23-year-old McCaw's contract is non-guaranteed, meaning that the Cavs have until January 7th to decide whether they want to keep him on the roster and pay a pro-rated $1.7 million for the rest of the season. The second-year of the deal is also non-guaranteed.

McCaw cannot get traded this season once his contract becomes guaranteed after January 7th.

McCaw averaged 4 points and 1.7 rebounds last season for the Warriors.

The signing also keeps the Warriors' 15th roster spot open. 

Patrick McCaw has agreed to sign a two-year, $6 million offer sheet with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

McCaw has been holding out this season as a restricted free agent with the Golden State Warriors.

Rodney Hood could be a trade candidate leading to the deadline.

Hood re-signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a $3.4 million deal for one season. The Cavaliers were willing to re-sign Hood to a deal worth approximately $20 million over three years.

"I've heard a little bit of what is going on and I'm just invested in what we have going on here," Hood told cleveland.com Tuesday night. "If I get a call then we will handle it then. But until I get a call I'm not going to worry about what's going on outside the circle.

"I think that's where I got into a little trouble last year, my last month or so when I was in Utah, just listening to what was going on rather than staying locked in. So just want to lock in and once I get that call we will see what happens."

Hood just learned that he could veto a trade due to his status on a one-year deal.

"I didn't know that until actually about like three or four days ago when people started talking about it," Hood said.

Hood was traded by the Utah Jazz to the Cavaliers last February.

"I'm happy in Cleveland, man," Hood told cleveland.com. "I like being here. I like the fan base. I like the city, me and my family are settled there. I'm not even looking towards being traded. It's a business and what happens outside of my jurisdiction, with my agent and the front office, that will happen and we will go from there.

"But for right now, just happy playing ball here, being a Cavalier and helping us win."

Tristan Thompson is expected to miss two to four weeks with a sprained left foot.

Thompson left Monday night's loss to Milwaukee in the third quarter after landing awkwardly on Malcolm Brogdon.

The team said in a statement that an MRI and further evaluation Tuesday confirmed Thompson's sprain and he would begin treatment and rehab.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have received interest from the Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans in J.R. Smith.

Both teams need depth on the wing.

With Smith's salary for 19-20 guaranteed for only $3.9 million next season, it has some level of value as a trade chip.

Smith last played on Nov. 14th.

The Washington Wizards will join the trade between the Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers to acquire Sam Dekker for Jason Smith and a future second round pick.

Milwaukee acquired George Hill from the Cavaliers while also saving cap space.

The Cavaliers and Wizards will swap second round picks, with Cleveland getting Washington's second in 2021 and sending their second in 2022.

Washington's tax bill will drop from $14.49 million to $9.79 million by trading out Smith's $5.45 million salary for Dekker's $2.68 million salary.

The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to trade John Henson, Matthew Dellavedova, a first round pick and a second round pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers for George Hill and Sam Dekker.

Cleveland is taking back money in order to acquire draft picks from the Bucks.

The draft picks being traded to the Cavaliers from the Bucks are in 2021.

The Cleveland Cavaliers aren't currently interested in trading for Kevin Love unless they are "blown away by an offer."

The Cavaliers signed Love to a four-year, $120 million extension in the offseason and have planned to keep him long-term.

Love has been limited to just four games this season due to a toe injury.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have waived Billy Preston and Andrew Harrison from their Two-Way contracts.

The Cavaliers then signed Jaron Blossomgame and Jalen Jones to Two-Way contracts.

In five G League games with Canton, Blossomgame is averaging 17.2 points on 49.2 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from 3-point range.

After being waived by the New Orleans Pelicans last January, Jones spent the rest of the 2017-18 season with the Dallas Mavericks on a Two-Way deal, appearing in 12 NBA games while averaging 5.8 points on 13.5 minutes.
