The Detroit Pistons are signing Chimezie Metu to a two-year deal. Metu completed a 10-day deal with Detroit on Friday.

Metu's new deal with the Pistons will include a team option for next season. In six games with Detroit, Metu averaged 7.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 26 minutes per game.

Metu previous played for the San Antonio Spurs and Sacramento Kings. He played 37 games for the Phoenix Suns this season, before being traded to and waived by the Memphis Grizzlies.

Detroit Pistons guard Quentin Grimes will miss the remainder of the season due to lingering knee soreness. Grimes will take the time to rehab his right knee due to still experiencing soreness after a bone bruise suffered in January.

The Pistons acquired Grimes at the trade deadline in a deal from the New York Knicks. He has one season remaining on his rookie scale contract beyond this one. Grimes will be extension-eligible this summer.

Detroit Pistons wing Stanley Umude will miss the remainder of the regular season. Umude has a hairline fracture in his right ankle.

Umude appeared in 24 games with the Pistons this season. He averaged 5.3 points in 12.8 minutes.

After starting the season on a two-way contract, Umude was signed to a two-year deal in late-February.

Isaiah Stewart will miss the rest of the Detroit Pistons' season with a right hamstring strain.

Stewart suffered the injury on Monday against the Celtics.

The Pistons also announced that Ausar Thompson will be out for the season due to a blood clot. 

Ausar Thompson will miss the remainder of the season while being treated for a blood clot.

Thompson has been cleared to resume conditioning and will begin non-contact basketball activities after the conclusion of the regular season.

Thompson is expected to make a full return before the 24-25 season.

Thompson finishes his rookie season averaging 8.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25.1 minutes over 63 games.

The Detroit Pistons have signed forward/center Chimezie Metu to a 10-day contract.

Metu, 6-9, 225, is a five-year NBA veteran and has appeared in 246 career games (31 starts) for San Antonio, Sacramento and Phoenix. The No. 49 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Metu holds career averages of 5.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 0.4 blocks in 12.8 minutes per game.

Metu appeared in 37 games (five starts) for the Phoenix Suns this season and averaged 5.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 12.1 minutes. A native of Los Angeles, CA, Metu played collegiately at the University of Southern

Taj Gibson and the Detroit Pistons are signing a rest-of-season contract. Gibson completed a 10-day contract with Detroit on Saturday.

The veteran big man has yet to appear in a game with the Pistons. However, Detroit has praised Gibson's work with their young big men. Jalen Duren, Isaiah Stewart and James Wiseman have already benefitted from working with Gibson, even in his short time with the team to date.

Veteran big man Taj Gibson is signing a 10-day contract with the Detroit Pistons. Gibson has played on a series of deals with the New York Knicks this season.

This is Gibson's 15th season in the NBA. He's also played for the Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves and Washington Wizards, in addition to the Knicks.

Shake Milton has agreed to a buyout with the Detroit Pistons.

Milton will be eligible to sign with a team and appear in the playoffs with multiple contenders expected to pursue him.

Milton was acquired by the Pistons from the Minnesota Timberwolves at the deadline.
