LA Clippers guard Cam Christie has pushed back his contract guarantee date for a second time this offseason. Christie's $2.3 million contract with the Clippers is now set to become fully guaranteed on October 15. Given the proximity of that date to the start of the season, it's unlikely Christie's guarantee date will be pushed back again.

The deal for the third-year guard was originally set to guarantee in late-June. He agreed to push it back to July 20 earlier this offseason. Now, Christie has agreed to push back the decision until just before the start of the regular season.

The Clippers are likely trying to keep as much flexibility as possible with their roster. LA is still waiting for the results of the Kawhi Leonard investigation. A pending trade of Leonard to the Toronto Raptors has been put on an indefinite hold until the investigation is completed.

The Washington Wizards agreed to a two-way deal with Felix Okpara, sources told Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Okpara, who was the 46th pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, was acquired from the Magic.

The Utah Jazz fully guaranteed the contracts for big man Kyle Filipowski and wing Svi Mykhailiuk for the 2026-27 season. Filipowski will hit the books at $3 million. Mykhailiuk will count at $3.85 million.

In his second NBA season, Filipowski averaged 11.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists. With the Jazz dealing with injuries at the center spot, Filipowski started in 41 of the 77 games he played last season.

Mykhailiuk is valued as a stay-ready veteran off the bench. Despite an inconsistent role, the veteran wing shooter averaged 9.4 points on 48% shooting, including 41% on three-pointers.

The LA Clippers have fully guaranteed the $5.7 million contract for guard Kris Dunn. The Clippers and Cam Christie agreed to amend the guarantee date for his $2.3 million contract. LA and Christie pushed that date back from June 30 to July 20.

Dunn appeared in all 82 games (68 starts) for the Clippers last season. The veteran guard averaged 7.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals. Dunn has become a consistent three-pointer shooter, in addition to being one of the top perimeter defenders in the NBA.

Draymond Green is declining his $27.7 million player option for the 2026-27 season with the Golden State Warriors. This move is freeing up flexibility for the Warriors, who are pursuing paths to add LeBron James and Anthony Davis this season.

Green can now negotiate a new deal with the Warriors that will add guaranteed salary over multiple seasons, while bringing down his salary hit for the upcoming season. Golden State has been clear that they are intent on retooling their roster around Green and Stephen Curry, with Steve Kerr returning as the team's head coach.

Zach LaVine is picking up his $48.9 million player option with the Sacramento Kings. LaVine will now be under contract for one more year with Sacramento.

LaVine was acquired by the Kings from the Chicago Bulls are the 2025 trade deadline. Last season, the veteran guard appeared in just 39 games in an injury-plagued season. LaVine averaged 19.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists. He shot 48% from the field, including 39% on three-pointers.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard James Harden is declining his $42.3 million player option for the 2026-27 season. The Cavs and Harden are working on a new multi-year deal.

Harden's contract would have become partially guaranteed for just over $13 million had he opted in for next season. The expectation has been that the veteran guard would opt out to sign a new long-term deal with Cleveland. The Cavs are likely to benefit by bringing Harden's contract number down for next season, which will help the team as they work around the first and second apron.

The Cavaliers acquired Harden at last season's trade deadline for Darius Garland and a second-round pick. Harden then averaged 19.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game in the 2026 NBA Playoffs, as Cleveland made it to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Houston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet is picking up his $25 million option for the 2026-27. VanVleet missed all of last season due to a torn ACL in his right knee. He's expected to be healthy for the start of next season.

The veteran point guard opted out last season to add more years to his deal, while lower his cap hit for last season. There was some thought VanVleet might take a similar path this offseason, but he chose to opt in.

In his two healthy seasons with Rockets, VanVleet has averaged 15.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

The Chicago Bulls have picked up their $2.4 million team option for Leonard Miller for the 2026-27 season. Miller's contract will now become briefly non-guaranteed before becoming fully guaranteed on June 30.

Miller broke out after a midseason trade sent him to Chicago. In 27 games (12 starts) with the Bulls, the 6-foot-10 forward averaged 11.7 points and 5.8 rebounds in 23.1 minutes per game. Miller shot 55% from the floor, including 36% on 3.2 three-point attempts per game.

The Bulls also picked up their $2.4 million team option for Mouhamadou Gueye. His contract is now non-guaranteed until the league-wide guarantee date on January 7. Gueye is reportedly being included in the agreed-to trade between the Bulls, Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets and Minnesota Timberwolves. Gueye is headed to Minnesota to satisfy touch rules as part of a multi-team trade.

The Cleveland Cavaliers exercised their fourth-year team option on Craig Porter Jr. on Monday.

The option is worth $2.4 million. 

Porter averaged 4.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 64 games last season for the Cavs.
