Harris Eyes Rumors In New Jersey

May 23, 2008 4:10 PM

Nets' point guard Devin Harris is keeping his eyes on the trade rumors involving the team this summer, according to The New York Post.

"You never know. Obviously, I've been a big part of rumors, as well, so you never know what's going to happen until it actually happens," Harris said Thursday.

The team has been linked to the Nuggets in a rumored deal that would bring Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Camby to town for an undisclosed package.

"I heard some rumors. I'm curious. You've got to figure we're going to do something, whether it's a big monster deal or changing some of our role players," Harris said. "I think it's more retooling, but it is the NBA, things happen every summer."

Do Nets Have Shot At Carmelo?

May 19, 2008 10:19 AM

The Nets are crossing their fingers for a miracle during Tuesday's NBA Draft Lottery in hopes that a high pick could yield them Carmelo Anthony, according to The Record (New Jersey).

Multiple league sources have said that the Nuggets and Nets are discussing a blockbuster trade that would send Anthony and Marcus Camby to New Jersey in exchange for a package that includes Richard Jefferson, Marcus Williams, Keith Van Horn's contract and New Jersey's lottery pick.

The Nets have a 1.1 percent chance of landing the top overall pick, and just a 4 percent shot at falling in the top three.

"You're always looking to do something to make some sense," Nets president Rod Thorn said. "If something presented itself that we felt could really help us,. then we might look to move either or both of our picks. But right now it appears to me we'll stay with at least the 10th pick and probably the 21st also."

Anthony-To-Nets Not A Likely Option

May 16, 2008 5:32 PM

Rumors of a trade between the Nets and Nuggets involving All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony are not as likely as reports indicated earlier this week, according to The Rocky Mountain News.

Ties between New Jersey general manager Kiki Vandeweghe and Denver seemed to spark the rumors, but trading for Anthony doesn't seem to be a very good option for the Nets.

Not only does Carmelo have has fair share of off-court issues, and it would probably take quite a bit to acquire him.
