China's Olympic Dream Comes To A Close By Lithuania

Yao Ming, Yi Juilian, and the Chinese National Team officially ended their Olympic campaign on Tuesday night when they were bombarded from long range by a determined Lithuania, eventually losing the game 94-68.

Former Pacer Sarunas Jasikevius was 5-6 from behind the arc on his way to 23 points to pace the Lithuanians, who will now play Spain for the right to challenge for the gold medal.

Yao Ming had 19 points and 7 boards while New Jersey Net forward Yi Jianlian had 11 points and 9 rebounds.

OKC Acquires Kyle Weaver

The Oklahoma City NBA franchise acquired guard Kyle Weaver in a trade with the Charlotte Bobcats, it was announced today by the team?s General Manager Sam Presti. Weaver was selected 38th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Bobcats. In exchange for Weaver, Oklahoma City sent New Jersey?s 2009 2nd round pick to Charlotte. Oklahoma City held New Jersey?s second round pick following a July 2006 trade which sent Mikki Moore to the Nets.

Carter: I Definitely Want To Be Here

Vince Carter was not surprised by any of the moves that the New Jersey Nets made since the 2007-08 season closed but maintained he still wants to be part of the team's future, the New York Daily News is reporting.

"I've never questioned what they're doing, and I definitely want to be here," Carter said. "It's the way it goes. It's the business of basketball."

Carter, who averaged 21.3 points per game last season, played through 2007-08 with an ankle injury, but after off-season surgery Carter says he is now healthy and ready to go.

New Net Arena Delayed Again

The company which plans on building the new home of the New Jersey Nets admits that the stadium may not be ready until the 2010-11 season is well underway, the New York Daily News is reporting.

While saying the plan remains to move the team to Brooklyn in "calendar year 2010," a representative of Forest City Ratner - Nets' owner Bruce Ratner's company - admitted that schedule "is in fact very aggressive."

"While that's the goal, if it is not met, then it would end up being calendar year 2011," said Bruce Bender, the company's executive vice president.
