Thon Maker Agrees To Non-Guaranteed Deal With Cavs

Thon Maker has agreed to a non-guaranteed, training camp deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Maker averaged 4.7 points and 2.8 rebounds last season with the Pistons, who did not give him a qualifying offer.

The Cavs currently have 14 players under contract.

The Utah Jazz have agreed to trade Rajon Tucker and a future second round pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers for cash.

Tucker went undrafted in 2019 out of Little Rock.

Tucker initially played for the Wisconsin Herd of the F League last season before being signed by the Jazz.

Matthew Dellavedova has agreed to re-sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a one-year deal at the veteran's minimum.

Dellavedova is coming off a four-year, $38 million deal he signed in 2016 with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Dellavedova returned to the Cavaliers in 2018 as part of the George Hill trade.

Damyean Dotson has agreed to a two-year, $4 million deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Dotson spent the past three seasons with the New York Knicks, who didn't appear interested in re-signing him. 

Dotson is a career 36.1 percent three-point shooter.

The Los Angeles Lakers are trading JaVale McGee and a future second-round pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Lakers will receive Jordan Bell and Alfonzo McKinnie, who are both on non-guaranteed deals. 

The deal gives the Lakers more financial flexibility to sign Marc Gasol.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors are expected to pursue Tristan Thompson in free agency.

Thompson is coming off a five-year, $82 million contract signed during the 2015 offseason.

The Cavaliers held onto Thompson at the trade deadline with the possibility of re-signing him in the offseason.

Thompson has obvious ties to the Lakers given his history playing with LeBron James and as a Klutch Sports client. Thompson is also a native of Toronto.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks have received trade interest in their picks at No. 5 and No. 6.

"There are a lot of teams, I'm told, calling Cleveland at five and Atlanta at six, seeing what the price is to get into those spots. So I think those teams are going to field calls all day long," said Adrian Wojnarowski on ESPN.

The New York Knicks are believed to be one of the teams hoping to trade up.

"We've never had so much action tied into such a short window. I think it's going to make for more trades tonight," said Wojnarowski.

Cavaliers Hire Daniel Arsham As Creative Director

The Cleveland Cavaliers have hired Daniel Arsham as the team's first-ever creative director.

Arsham’s career includes solo museum shows, brand collaborations with Porsche and Dior, artistic collaborations with Merce Cunningham and Pharrell and a multidisciplinary design practice called Snarkitecture, which produces furniture and large-scale experiential installations. Arsham grew up largely in Miami and now lives in Brooklyn, but his family has roots in Ohio.

Arsham will oversee the team's brand identity across all mediums.

Arsham will design on-court apparel, including player jerseys, and the court itself, as well as adjacent areas.
