May 2001 Detroit Pistons Wiretap
According to Michigan Live, the Pistons look set to return their point guard duo of Mateen Cleaves and Chucky Atkins next season. No other viable options have come up on the free agent or trade market.
Still, that hasn't stopped the rumors that the Pistons are actively looking to trade one of their point guards this summer, or sometime prior to the NBA's trading deadline in February.
According to Michigan Live, if Michael Jordan comes back, his first game will likely be against the Detroit Pistons.
The Pistons released their eight-game exhibition schedule Monday, which begins with an Oct. 9 game against Cleveland at The Palace.
But the game that most Pistons and NBA fans are eyeing is Detroit's Oct. 11 home game against the Washington Wizards and, potentially, Jordan.
The Oct. 11 game against Detroit is expected to be the exhibition opener for the Wizards.
The Pistons have signed their first-round draft pick, Rodney White.
White, 21, was the ninth overall pick in the June NBA draft. His three-year deal is thought to fall in the $5.1-million to $5.2-million range.
