Warriors coach Don Nelson is still battling pneumonia.

Golden State announced on Friday that Nelson will miss the team's next three games, returning after their tilt against Denver on Tuesday.

The team's next three opponents are the Lakers, Pacers and Nuggets.

Nelson has already missed two games with the illness.

The Warriors still qualify for the roster exemption that allowed them to sign center Chris Hunter recently.

The league requires that teams have at least four players who have missed three games and aren't expected to return for two weeks.

A petition for a roster exemption must be filed every two weeks.

Currently, Golden State has Brandan Wright (shoulder), Kelenna Azubuike (knee), Speedy Claxton (knee) and Raja Bell (wrist) on the shelf.

C.J. Watson returned for his first game since contracting the H1N1 virus.

"In Milwaukee, I thought I was going to die," Watson said before Wednesday's loss in San Antonio. "I've been sick before. Never like that. I'm not going to lie. I was scared."

Watson first learned he may have the H1N1 virus after the game at Milwaukee on Nov. 14.

C.J. Watson rejoined the Warriors on Wednesday after being diagnosed with the swine flu Nov. 14 and missing four games.

"It was hard, because it felt like I was out like a month with a suspension or something," Watson said. "I just tried to stay positive and watch the games on TV."

The Warriors had just six healthy players on Tuesday night, but they were still able to shock the Mavericks on the road.

Washington shot 47% from the floor, while Philadelphia went 21-for-23 from the foul line. Louis Williams had 26 points and five assists, Samuel Dalembert tallied 15 points and nine rebounds and Thaddeus Young added 23 points and four boards in the loss.

The Golden State Warriors (5-8) used just six players to knock off the Dallas Mavericks (10-4) at the American Airlines Center. Monta Ellis starred with 37 points and eight assists, Anthony Morrow posted 27 points, nine rebounds and five dimes and Vladimir Radmanovic added 14 points and 12 boards. Golden State turned the ball over 21 times, but went 10-for-21 from three-point range. Dirk Nowitzki had 28 points and 10 rebounds, Jason Terry scored 21 points off the bench and Jason Kidd stuffed the stat sheet with five points, 13 assists and 10 boards.

Monta Ellis scored 13 of his season-high 37 points in the fourth quarter, Stephen Curry added 11 of his 18 points in the final 4 minutes and the Warriors ended Dallas? five-game winning streak with a 111-103 victory over the Mavericks on Tuesday night, according to an Associated Press report.

Warriors coach Don Nelson has pneumonia and isn't traveling with the team for two games in Texas, according to an ESPN.com report.

The 69-year-old Nelson missed practice Sunday and again Monday. The team said he had been diagnosed with pneumonia and would miss games Tuesday at Dallas and Wednesday at San Antonio.

The Blazers lost in Oakland for the 11th straight time on Friday night.

Beyond the losses, it has been home for many other unfortunate instances for the organization.

'It's where Bonzi Wells blew out his knee in April 2001, disrupting the Blazers' starting lineup for the playoffs,' writes Jason Quick of The Oregonian. 'It's where Shawn Kemp informed the team he needed to enter rehabilitation for cocaine abuse. And it's where Rasheed Wallace and Wells fought with the Warriors in 2002, which led to Wallace trying to get into the stands and Golden State's Chris Mills trying to enter the Blazers' postgame locker room. Unsuccessful at that, Mills blocked the team bus as it left the arena.'

The Warriors came home from a road trip that saw Stephen Jackson traded away and defeated the Blazers by a final score of 108-94.

Monta Ellis played all 48 minutes, playing excellent defense on Brandon Roy and scored 34 points with eight assists, six rebounds and six steals.  

"With what I did on the defensive end, getting everybody involved and being out their leading players and making plays for others, you could say that," Ellis said. "If people want to say it's my team, then it's my team, but I've got soldiers behind me who are ready to go with me.

"We're all going to put it together and make this one, big, happy family."

Ellis had a game-high FIC of 21.6, while Roy had a 4.6.

The Golden State Warriors have signed forward/center Chris Hunter to a contract, the team announced Friday.  

Hunter, who is being called up from the NBA Development League's Fort Wayne Mad Ants, will be in uniform for Friday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers at Oracle Arena.
                                                 
Hunter, 25, was a D-League All-Star last season with Fort Wayne, where he averaged 19.3 points, 9.4 rebounds, 1.19 blocks and 32.7 minutes per contest in 47 games.
