Bucks, Pacers Have Held Victor Oladipo Trade Talks

Oct 28, 2020 11:12 PM

The Indiana Pacers have discussed a potential Victor Oladipo trade with the Milwaukee Bucks, sources tell Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer.

At this point, a deal between the Pacers and Bucks seems unlikely.

Oladipo has one season remaining on his current contract with the Pacers.

Milwaukee is expected to be aggressive this offseason in improving its roster around Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Heat Still Consider Giannis Antetokounmpo No. 1 Target, Won't Compromise 2021 Cap Space

Oct 27, 2020 11:37 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo remains the top target for the Miami Heat in 2021 free agency and won't do anything between now and then to impede their chances of signing him.

The Milwaukee Bucks can sign Antetokounmpo to a supermax extension this offseason, but won't consider trading him if he rejects it.

There has been nothing to suggest Antetokounmpo has any specific interest in signing with the Heat. Miami eliminated the Bucks in the second round of the 2020 playoffs.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks Believed To Be Prepared To Take Situation To 2021 Free Agency

Oct 20, 2020 5:49 PM

Neither the Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo are expected to position themselves in a way during the 2020 offseason that would lead to a trade, similar to the path taken during the 15-16 season by Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

"All of the intel I've gotten for years is Giannis is not going to do that with Dallas or any other team," said Zach Lowe on his podcast. "And the Bucks, as a result, will take it to the end as the Thunder did with Durant. If he doesn't sign the supermax, you just live in this world all year. If he doesn't sign the supermax and he doesn't say 'I'm leaving', then the Bucks are not trading him. And they're going to try to win the championship and convince him to stay. Or get to The Finals and convince him to stay. Get to The Finals and make a trade that convinces him... Whatever. Somehow convince him to stay.

"I think they take it to the end and that only changes if Giannis tells them now 'I want to go to this place' or 'I'm not re-signing.' Which I don't think will happen."

Lowe also anticipates Antetokounmpo won't sign the supermax this offseason.

Antetokounmpo has publicly said he won't request a trade this offseason.

Victor Oladipo Could Be Targeted By Bucks

Oct 20, 2020 5:32 PM

The Milwaukee Bucks allowed Malcolm Brogdon to join the Indiana Pacers last offseason in a sign-and-trade, but could potentially replace him this offseason with Victor Oladipo.

Oladipo has one season remaining on his contract with the Pacers and has an uncertain future, while the Bucks are expected to be active in trade talks to upgrade their roster ahead of Giannis Antetokounmpo's supermax decision this year, or perhaps free agent decision in 2021.

"I'll give you a team I'm keeping an eye on with Victor Oladipo," said Zach Lowe on his podcast. "Milwaukee. Just keeping my eye on them. That's all I'm going to say. I'm keeping my eye on them.

Oladipo was an All-Star in his first two seasons with the Pacers, but was uneven in 19-20 as he worked his way back from a ruptured quad tendon suffered in January 2019.

Bucks Emphatic They Won't Trade Giannis Antetokounmpo If He Passes On Extension

Oct 19, 2020 8:21 AM

If Giannis Antetokounmpo passes on an extension with the Milwaukee Bucks this offseason, Tim Bontemps of ESPN reports that "multiple sources have emphatically said Milwaukee will not look to trade [him]."

The Bucks will instead try to improve their roster and bolster their case on why Antetokounmpo should sign long-term with the franchise.

The Bucks could be major players in the trade market if they are willing to increase payroll.

A few teams such as the Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat could be more aggressive in 2020 if Antetokounmpo does sign an extension now.

Bucks To Pursue Bogdan Bogdanovic

Oct 15, 2020 11:40 AM

The Milwaukee Bucks are expected to be a strong suitor for Bogdan Bogdanovic, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic. The Bucks are prioritizing additional playmaking and shooting around Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton.

Bogdanovic will be a restricted free agent with the Sacramento Kings, which gives them matching rights. The Bucks were in a similar situation last offseason with Malcolm Brogdon and agreed to a sign-and-trade with the Indiana Pacers.

The Kings signed Buddy Hield to a four-year, $94 million extension before the 19-20 season, but Luke Walton seemed to prefer Bogdanovic as the season progressed.

Heat 'Preparing To Go All In' To Sign Giannis Antetokounmpo In 2021

Oct 15, 2020 11:31 AM

The Miami Heat are "preparing to go all in on the pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2021 free agency," sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Heat could have enough cap space to sign Antetokounmpo outright, but that will mean prioritizing shorter term contracts this offseason.

Miami eliminated Antetokounmpo's Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the playoffs.

Antetokounmpo has won the past two regular season MVPs.

Mavericks Will Be 'At Head Of Line' Pursuing Giannis Antetokounmpo

Oct 13, 2020 4:32 PM

The Dallas Mavericks are widely expected to preserve their cap space for the 2021 offseason when Giannis Antetokounmpo becomes a free agent.

"The Dallas Mavericks are gonna be at the head of the line in pursuing Giannis. They want to have a 3rd star," said Brian Windhorst on The Jump.

The Mavericks would offer Antetokounmpo the opportunity to team up with Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.

"They want to keep their books clear for 2021," added Windhorst. "I wouldn't expect them to add any major free agents this year. They're going to wait."

Antetokounmpo is eligible for a supermax extension this offseason with the Milwaukee Bucks.
