Giannis Antetokounmpo has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played from Dec. 24-30. James Harden won the award for the Western Conference. 

While leading the Bucks to a 3-0 record last week, Antetokounmpo averaged 30.7 points, 12.7 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 3.0 blocks and 2.3 steals per game while shooting 62.1 percent from the field. 

Harden averaged 42.3 points, 6.3 assists, 5.7 rebounds, 1.67 steals and 1.33 blocks.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been granted the relief of Mirza Teletovic's $10.5 million salary due to his career-ending injury.

Teletovic was diagnosed with pulmonary emboli in both lungs.

Teletovic was waived in March of last season and he announced his retirement in September of 2018.

Ersan Ilyasova underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured nose, which he sustained during practice on Dec. 16. The surgery was performed by Dr. Sachin Pawar of the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin health network under the supervision of Bucks team physician Dr. William Raasch.

Ilyasova will remain out and his status will be updated as appropriate.

In 24 games (two starts) for the Bucks this season, Ilyasova is averaging 7.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 19.9 minutes per game while shooting 43.0 percent from the field.

Giannis Antetokounmpo saw Anthony Davis in the hall of the Fiserv Forum after the Milwaukee Bucks' 123-115 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

“Come to the Bucks, man,” said Antetokounmpo to Davis. "Come to the Bucks."

Both Antetokounmpo and Davis then laughed.

The future of Davis with the Pelicans is uncertain as he approaches an offseason in which he could sign a supermax contract.

Giannis Antetokounmpo turned down Carmelo Anthony's invitation to play in a popular pickup game in New York City last summer that featured LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and James Harden.

“I can’t work out with you in the summer and then play you in a few months,” Antetokounmpo said. “It feels weird. It doesn’t feel right with me. Like other players, it’s cool for other players, but I don’t. I don’t want to. Other guys do it.”

He added that he doesn't want to be "buddy buddy" with his opponents, before mentioning that he and Kevin Durant only began texting each other a month ago. 

Instead, Antetokoumpo worked out with Kobe Bryant for the first time last summer since Bryant wouldn't be able to use his secrets against him in a game. 

The Washington Wizards will join the trade between the Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers to acquire Sam Dekker for Jason Smith and a future second round pick.

Milwaukee acquired George Hill from the Cavaliers while also saving cap space.

The Cavaliers and Wizards will swap second round picks, with Cleveland getting Washington's second in 2021 and sending their second in 2022.

Washington's tax bill will drop from $14.49 million to $9.79 million by trading out Smith's $5.45 million salary for Dekker's $2.68 million salary.

The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to trade John Henson, Matthew Dellavedova, a first round pick and a second round pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers for George Hill and Sam Dekker.

Cleveland is taking back money in order to acquire draft picks from the Bucks.

The draft picks being traded to the Cavaliers from the Bucks are in 2021.

Tobias Harris has been named Western Conference Player of the Month for October and November. This is Harris’ first career Player of the Month honor. He was previously named Western Conference Player of the Week for Week 6 (games played Monday, November 19, through Sunday, November 25).

Giannis Antetokounmpo was the Eastern Conference winner.

Harris helped lead the Clippers to a Western Conference-best 15-6 record over the first two months of the season, behind averages of 21.7 points and 8.7 rebounds in addition to shooting splits of 52.8 percent from the field, 44.0 percent from three-point range and 82.6 percent from the free-throw line.
