The Phoenix Suns still believe they can run a two point guard system.

Phoenix entered last season with Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic and Isaiah Thomas, but traded away Dragic and Thomas in February. The Suns have Bledsoe and Brandon Knight on long-term contracts.

"The system is good so long as there’s buy-in from the players," Ryan McDonough said. "We value guys who can push the ball in transition, score in transition, and if that’s not there, can get into early offense and run a pick-and-roll. I think the more guys you have on the floor who can do that, the better.

"I think the issue last year was we had three pretty high-level players who all wanted the ball in their hands," McDonough said. "But again, 48 games into the year we were 28-20 despite losing a few games at the buzzer. So it’s not like [playing two point guards] didn’t work or was a disaster, as some people believe. It didn’t work as well as we would have hoped and the players didn’t accept it as well as we would’ve hoped and we had to deal with the repercussions of that."

Ronnie Price and the Phoenix Suns have agreed upon a one-year veteran's minimum deal at $1.5 million.

Price previously played for the Suns during the 11-12 season.

Price gives the Suns extra depth at point guard.

Mirza Teletovic and the Phoenix Suns have agreed upon a one-year, $5.5 million deal.

The Brooklyn Nets rescinded their qualifying offer to Teletovic.

Gerald Green and the Miami Heat have agreed upon a one-year deal.

Green finally emerged as an effective NBA player during his time with the Phoenix Suns.

Green gives the Heat depth on the wings.

Sonny Weems and the Phoenix Suns have agreed upon a two-year, $5.8 million deal.

Weems last played in the NBA in 2011 with the Toronto Raptors.

Weems has since played in Europe with Zalgiris and CSKA.

Weems turned 29 on July 8th.

The San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns have emerged as the frontrunners to sign LaMarcus Aldridge.

Aldridge has also considered the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers.

The Suns' position has improved following the signing of Tyson Chandler and their meetings.

The Spurs and Lakers were considered the favorites heading into the process.

LaMarcus Aldridge is considering taking a free agent visit or two as he continues to weigh his decision.

Aldridge is believed to be most strongly considering the Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs.

But the Los Angeles Lakers have been granted a second meeting by Aldridge. The second meeting will only involve Mitch Kupchak and Byron Scott and be strictly about basketball.

One source briefed on the Lakers second meeting with Aldridge told Yahoo Sports: "They want to see if they can get it right."

David Aldridge of NBA.com reports Aldridge cancelled this meeting with the New York Knicks. Aldridge canceled the meeting when it became clear the Knicks view Aldridge as a center, which he is adamant about not wanting to do.

The Phoenix Suns have traded Marcus Morris, Reggie Bullock and Danny Granger to the Detroit Pistons for a second round pick in 2020.

The Suns have cleared cap space as they pursue LaMarcus Aldridge.

Phoenix already signed Tyson Chandler and they are closer to being able to sign Aldridge without the need for a sign-and-trade. Phoenix still needs to unload either Markieff Morris or P.J. Tucker.

The Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns are amongst the teams who have expressed interest in Amar'e Stoudemire.

Stoudemire finished last season with the Mavericks following his release by the New York Knicks.

Stoudemire remains a productive player on offense in limited minutes.

The Phoenix Suns are not interested in trading away Eric Bledsoe.

There have been multiple rumors this offseason of the Suns potentially trading Bledsoe and those intensified with their LaMarcus Aldridge meeting and their re-signing of Brandon Knight on a five-year, $70 million deal. 

But Bledsoe actually sat in on the meeting with Aldridge.

The Suns have multiple players who play the same position as Aldridge and Tyson Chandler that they can deal away.
