Chris Paul Likely To Return Ahead Of April 3rd Projection

Mar 21, 2022 10:43 AM

Chris Paul is likely to return before his original projection of April 3rd, sources tell Sam Amick of The Athletic.

Paul was expected to miss six to eight weeks with a right thumb fracture when the injury was announced on Feb. 20.

Paul could now return as early as Wednesday at the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Paul has ramped up his activity of late and his conditioning is the main focus in why he's trying to return earlier.

The Phoenix Suns have a 10-4 record without Paul and have nearly clinched homeport advantage throughout the playoffs.

Chris Paul Doing 'More And More' In Recovery From Fractured Thumb

Mar 21, 2022 11:05 AM

Monty Williams said doesn't have a timetable for Chris Paul's return yet. However, Williams did say that Chris Paul is doing "more and more" in his recovery from a fractured thumb.

Williams added about his All-Star point guard, "I'd rather have him back sooner than later."

During All-Star weekend, Paul said he would return as soon as he is able. Because his injury has been to his thumb, Paul has reportedly been able to keep up with his conditioning while out of action.

Paul last played on February 16. He was injured in that game against the Houston Rockets. The Suns have gone 9-4 during Paul's absence, including their current four-game win streak.
