The Celtics are expected to sign Marquis Daniels to a contract worth the biannual exception on Tuesday.
Sources told the Boston Herald of the agreement.

The Celtics had been trying to work a sign-and-trade with the Pacers, but nothing was reached.
The Celtics are hoping to finalize their acquisition of Marquis Daniels this week.
If Boston doesn't sign Daniels to a deal worth their biannual exception, they are expected to work a sign-and-trade with Indiana.
Bill Walker is one name that has been mentioned in trade talks. He wants to return to the Celtics, but he knows the NBA is a business.
"I don't worry about that. That's a part of the business. That's the beast side of the business. All I can control is that I'm going to work out every day and take every day for what it?s worth," Walker told the Boston Herald. "If I'm here, I'm here. If I'm not, oh well, but I still want to be who I am at the end of the day."
Ray Allen's contract expires after the upcoming season, but the guard is expected by many to remain with the Celtics.
Celtics president Danny Ainge told the Boston Herald that there have been no serious talks about an extension, but a family development may signify Allen's plans.
The guard's teenager daughter, who previously lived with her mother in South Carolina, is expected to move in with him and play volleyball and basketball at Wellesley High this upcoming school year.
She's entering her junior year, and the Globe points out that a move wouldn't make sense if Allen had plans to move next summer.
Leon Powe, who signed with the Cavaliers last week, says the Celtics never made him an offer to return.
"There was no offer from Boston. I waited a while, about a month or two, because I love Boston, I love the fans, I wanted to be there, but nothing happened," Powe told Hoops Daily. "Then Cleveland made their offer, and I had nowhere else to go, so I gave them my word that I'd go there. You know, I'm the kind of person... I never go back on my word."
Powe is working hard to come back from major knee surgery and isn't expected to play until the second half of the season.
The forward wouldn't bad mouth the Celtics, but did seem confused by their lack of effort to re-sign him.
"I'm not upset. I know it's a business. But I talked with the Celtics ? with Danny [Ainge] and Steve [Pagliuca], one of the owners. Steve even told me he would try to pay out of his own pocket to have me back," Powe admitted.
The Pacers and Celtics have been trying to work out a sign-and-trade for Marquis Daniels, but a source told the Indianapolis Star that a deal is unlikely.
Daniels agreed to join Boston last month, and is expected to sign with the Celtics for the biannual exception.
The clubs have been looking for a third team to facilitate a trade, but haven't had any luck.
Kevin Garnett is expected to reach the 40,000-minute mark before Thanksgiving this season.
The Celtics forward has played 39,635 minutes in his career, and has three more years on his contract.
Garnett has already logged more minutes than Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Isiah Thomas, and Dominique Wilkins.
Leon Powe signed with Cleveland on Wednesday, even though the forward probably would have preferred to remain in Boston.
?I think that his preference would have been to stay with Boston,? Powe?s agent Aaron Goodwin said by telephone on Wednesday. ?That didn?t work out. He?s got a great opportunity with a great organization that happens to be one of the best teams in the league. Good things happen to good people.?
Celtics general manager Danny Ainge claims that no team wanted Glen "Big Baby" Davis more this summer than the only club he's played for.
"I tried to talk with Glen and tried to explain to him a bigger picture, but it's tough," Ainge said of the free agent process, according to the Boston Herald. "He's living in the moment and from one day to the next it can be a roller coaster. ... A lot of teams liked Glen in free agency, but we came through. We like Glen more than anybody else likes Glen out there, and that's ultimately what it boils down to."
Celtics general manager Danny Ainge is still trying to figure out how the team will acquire Marquis Daniels.
Ainge told the Boston Herald that the club is "trying to figure out the best way to get him here."
Unless the Pacers and Celtics are able to get a third team in on a sign-and-trade, Boston is expected to sign Daniels for the $1.9 biannual exception.
The Boston Celtics announced today that the club has re-signed forward Glen Davis to a contract.
Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Glen has been a big part of our success for the past two years and we are very excited to have him back," said Danny Ainge, Celtics President of Basketball Operations.
Davis averaged 7.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in 2009-10.
RealGM Note: Per a report from Yahoo!, Davis' contract includes 'weight-related bonuses totaling $500K each season.'
