Snider: 76ers Have Had No Contact With Brown

Apr 27, 2010 2:20 PM

76ers chairman Ed Snider says that the organization has had no contact with current Bobcats coach Larry Brown or any of his representatives.

Snider also denied reports that the team has made overtures to former Philadelphia guard, and current TNT announcer, Doug Collins.

Reports by both Yahoo! and the Philadelphia Inquirer have linked the 76ers to Brown.

"I don't know where this stuff comes from," Snider said Monday night. "I keep reading that [new Bobcats owner] Michael Jordan has said it'd be OK for Brown to leave [under certain circumstances]. But it's not coming from us. Nothing is coming from us."

Brown also denied the rumors following his team's elimination from the postseason on Monday night.

Brown Refutes Philadelphia Rumors

Apr 27, 2010 8:08 AM

Bobcats coach Larry Brown is refuting a report in the Philadelphia Inquirer that he'll soon leave the team for the 76ers.

The report claimed that Brown would leave Charlotte once the team was eliminated from the postseason. The Magic completed a four-game sweep of the Bobcats on Monday night.

Brown was first linked to the 76ers back in March and a Yahoo! report on Monday linked him to the franchise as well.

"I think I've answered that for the last two months," Brown said when asked to comment on the reports. "I'm not coaching anywhere but Charlotte."

He went on to say that he'll discuss his future with his family after the season.

"Now, am I going to talk to my family and talk to Michael? Absolutely," said Brown. "But I'm not coaching anywhere but for Michael if he'll have me."

Felton's Value Could Be Dropping

Apr 25, 2010 4:03 PM

Bobcats point guard Raymond Felton hasn't played well in the postseason against the Magic, which could hurt his free-agent stock.

Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer writes that, "I suspect Raymond Felton has cost himself a lot of money for the way he's played in this best-of-seven."

Felton will become an unrestricted free agent in July.

He is averaging 12.0 points and 4.7 assists in three games against Orlando, but he's shooting just 41.2% and Jameer Nelson has exploded offensively.

Wallace: Bobcats Can't Let Howard 'Bully' Them

Apr 20, 2010 8:20 AM

Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace doesn't want to see the team allow Magic center Dwight Howard to bully them.

"We're not going to just let him think he's the bully or that he's a factor up under the basket," Wallace said, "because he's not."

Charlotte turned into a perimeter team after Howard blocked eight shots in the first half of Game 1.

"He's a shot blocker, and we're a team that attacks the rim," Wallace said. "You put those two together, and somebody has to win."
