Bobcats Interested In Bargnani For Gordon

Feb 16, 2013 3:41 PM

The Charlotte Bobcats are motivated to trade Ben Gordon, which creates another possible destination for the Toronto Raptors to send Andrea Bargnani.

The Raptors have actively been seeking a trade of Bargnani for several weeks.

The Raptors, however, are unlikely to trade Bargnani for Gordon given the presence of Terrence Ross and Alan Anderson at shooting guard.

Gordon is on a shorter contract than Carlos Boozer, another player linked to a Bargnani trade.

Bobcats Increasingly Motivated To Trade Ben Gordon

Feb 14, 2013 10:55 PM

The Charlotte Bobcats are increasingly motivated to trade Ben Gordon before the Feb. 21 deadline.

Gordon refused to stop bouncing a ball as Mike Dunlap spoke during Monday's shootaround.

Gordon began baiting Dunlap, telling him that he needed to "humble himself," sources said.

Bobcats general manager Rod Higgins was in the practice session and ultimately intervened, sources said.

"Beyond disrespectful," was how one league source described the scene.

The Bobcats decided not to suspend Gordon for the incident, believing it would hurt his trade value.

Gordon is owed $13.2 million for the 13-14 NBA season.

Sources: Nets, Bobcats Discussing Humphries-Gordon Swap

Feb 8, 2013 4:58 PM

The Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Bobcats are discussing a trade that would swap Kris Humphries and Ben Gordon, according to league sources.

Trade talks are ongoing but nothing is imminent.

Both Gordon and Humphries make $12 million this season.

The Nets are searching for a shooter to space the floor and believe Gordon -- who's averaging 13.1 points on 41.7 percent three-point shooting this season -- would fill a void.

Bobcats Want Walker To Model Game After Parker, Paul

Feb 2, 2013 10:56 AM

Mike Dunlap revealed that he uses tape of Chris Paul and Tony Parker to help mold second-year point guard Kemba Walker.

“We really feel, mentally and physically, the way those two lead their teams is very special,” Dunlap said. “Different, but they get the same results.”

Dunlap emphasizes Parker’s attention to detail.

“First, change of speed: This is how he does it, where and when,” Dunlap said. “Then, two is just how when he doesn’t have the ball, he is one of the hardest cutters in the league. He just rips his cuts. Third is if you overplay his cuts — snap — he goes back door.”

Gregg Popovich believes Parker has been the top point guard in the league this season.

“I think he’s probably played better than any point guard in the league, if you want to be totally frank,” Popovich said. “It’s hard to pick somebody whose had a better year than he’s had.”
