The Houston Rockets have waived Matt Hurt from his Two-Way contract. Hurt was signed to a Two-Way deal with Houston after going undrafted at the 2021 NBA Draft.
Hurt played two seasons at Duke. As a sophomore, he started all 24 of the Blue Devils games. The 6'9'' forward averaged 18.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He then declared as an Early Entry Candidate for the 2021 NBA Draft.
The Houston Rockets have waive forward Tyler Bey. This waiver was necessary to create the roster spot for Houston to re-sign Dante Exum. The Rockets signed Bey to a fully non-guaranteed training camp contract in late-August.
Bey spent his rookie season in 2020-21 with the Dallas Mavericks on a Two-Way contract. In 18 NBA games, Bey averaged 1.0 points and 1.1 rebounds in 3.9 minutes. In 13 games in the G-League bubble, Bey averaged 15.1 points and 9.2 rebounds.
When he clears waivers, Bey will be an unrestricted free agent.
Eric Gordon has not approached the Houston Rockets to ask for a trade, but he's open to moving to a more favorable situation as the franchise continues their rebuild.
The Rockets have communicated to Gordon and his camp that they would love for him to stay.
“They always know, and it’s definitely not easy for my position,” Gordon tells Kelly Iko of The Athletic about Houston understanding how he feels. “But my ultimate goal is to just go out there and play, help, show that I’m healthy and gravitate to these guys to get better.”
Gordon was part of the group that took a pre-camp trip down to the Bahamas.
Gordon has two years and approximately $37 million remaining on his contract. Gordon signed a four-year, $76 million extension with the Rockets during the 2019 offseason.
The Houston Rockets and John Wall have agreed to seek a mutually beneficial trade and that he will remain around the team but not play in any games in the meantime.
Wall is owed $91.7 million over two years on his contract.
"I never say never in the NBA," said Zach Lowe. We've seen these mega contracts traded for each other. I just don't see a trade here and so I don't really know what happens other than we wait a really long time and then there's a buyout."
"I think it's hurry up and wait until next summer," said MacMahon. "I think that's what ends up happening."

Exum has played in only 30 games over the past two seasons, but has returned to full health and played for Australia in the Olympics.
Exum was acquired by the Houston Rockets in January as part of the James Harden trade. Exum didn't play with the Rockets due to a calf injury.
John Wall and the Houston Rockets have begun to work together on a trade and he won't appear in any games with the team in the interim.
Wall is entering his second season with the Rockets. Wall is entering his 12th NBA season and both he and the Rockets recognize each side is in different phases.
There are no buyout plans on the two years and $91.7 million remaining on his contract.
The plan is for Wall to remain present around the Rockets entering training camp.

Anthony Lamb has signed his qualifying offer to return to the Houston Rockets.
Lamb played last season with the Rockets on a Two-Way contract. Lamb played 24 games with the Rockets last season.
