Marc Gasol will miss the remainder of the season to undergo surgery to repair a midfoot fracture.

Gasol underwent surgery on Saturday, which repaired a non-displaced Type II fracture of the navicular bone in his right foot.

Gasol re-signed with the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2015 offseason on a five-year, $110 million deal.

Gasol's status for the 2016 Olympics in Rio is also in doubt.

The Los Angeles Clippers will consider pursuing Lance Stephenson in free agency if the Memphis Grizzlies decline their team option on his deal.

Stephenson was traded at the deadline with a first round pick for Jeff Green.

The Clippers insisted Stephenson wasn't a problem this season behind the scenes.

Stephenson never quite found his fit with the Clippers though he did spend time as a small ball power forward.

Teams cannot reacquire a player they traded away during that season and cannot re-sign with his original team until the one-year anniversary of the trade if he's waived, or until July 1st following the end of his contract, whichever comes first. If Stephenson becomes a free agent this offseason, he can sign with the Clippers.

Mike Conley will be a free agent in the offseason but the Memphis Grizzlies have refused to discuss a trade of him ahead of the deadline.

Conley was the third overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft out of Ohio State by the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies re-signed Marc Gasol last offseason without any threat from rival teams.

The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to trade Courtney Lee to the Charlotte Hornets for PJ Hairston, Brian Roberts and two second round picks.

The Miami Heat will acquire Roberts in the deal, sending two second round picks included in the trade to the Grizzlies as well as Chris Andersen. One of the picks will be heavily protected.

The Grizzlies will acquire four second round picks in total.

The Hornets will send their pick from 2018 and the 2019 pick belonging to the Brooklyn Nets.

Lee is in the final season of his contract.

The Memphis Grizzlies plan on pursuing Kevin Durant in free agency.

Mike Conley will also be a free agent and the Grizzlies will have the opportunity to pitch Durant on joining Conley and Marc Gasol to form a well-balanced core.

The Grizzlies will still try to make the playoffs even with Marc Gasol possibly out for the season with a broken foot.

Memphis has Jeff Green and Courtney Lee, amongst others, on expiring contracts.

Mike Conley Jr. will be one of the most highly sought after free agents this offseason, but he's widely been expected to re-sign with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Conley didn't close the door on signing with the New York Knicks when asked on Friday.

"Everything will be on the table when the time comes. I haven't committed to anything."

Shortly before Conley's comments, Zach Randolph preemptively talked about Conley.

"Mike Conley's not coming here, man," said Randolph.

Vince Carter plans on playing next season and beyond.

Carter is currently in his 18th NBA season at the age of 39.

"For sure," Carter said. "Did I say I was retiring? I'm very thankful for (the recognition on the road). Don't get me wrong. But I plan on coming back. I just go year to year at this point. I don't put a timetable on it. I don't want to say two years and then everybody says 'Well this is it, right?' But 20 years would be cool."

Carter has been used more sparingly this season.

"There are times when you see more lively legs and it's awesome," Dave Joerger said. "The last two games guys have been like 'Yeah, Vince!' It's fantastic. He's very versatile and you have to play him. He can make a 3 on you in two seconds. His experience and playing with Jeff (Green) and Matt (Barnes) is a unique look for us. They're kind of all the same, but they have different skills. They cover for each other really well. It's something I'm really comfortable with. They're all high-IQ guys and they make the game easier for each other."
