Kidd Declines To Explain Decision To Bench Antetokounmpo

Apr 9, 2015 1:45 AM

Jason Kidd decided to sit Giannis Antetokounmpo against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday without explanation.

"He didn't tell me," Antetokounmpo said when asked if Kidd told him he would sit. "No, he didn't tell me."

Antetokounmpo wasn't told why he was benched.

"I don't know," Antetokounmpo said after the game. "It was coach's decision — I don't know — for me not to play today."

Kidd invoked the phrase "coach's decision" six times during his postgame press conference.

"Coach's decision," Kidd said for the fourth time. "It was a coach's decision. I don't know what, you guys can't hear? ...You guys are smart. How about the game?"

Bucks Reveal New Color Scheme, 'M' Logo (Image)

Apr 2, 2015 12:09 PM

The Milwaukee Bucks revealed their new color scheme on Wednesday.

Green
· The traditional color of the Milwaukee Bucks – a hallmark of our brand throughout the team’s 47-year history.

· Emblematic of the state’s dense forests and rich agricultural industry.

Cream
· Just as the “Cream City” brick is the foundation upon which Milwaukee was built, cream will be the foundational color of the team’s new brand identity.

· Cream will be unique to the Bucks – we’ll be the only team in NBA to feature a cream hue as an official team color.

Blue
· Blue underlines the importance of the Great Lakes and multiple rivers in the history and future of our city and state. In fact, some think the word Milwaukee was derived from the Algonquian term “Millioki,” which meant “gathering place by the waters.”

· The addition of blue to our color palette pays homage to the history of professional basketball in Milwaukee, as blue was the primary color of the Milwaukee Hawks, the city’s first NBA team.

Giannis Expects Shooting Range To All Make Sense Next Season

Apr 1, 2015 8:15 PM

Jason Kidd the Milwaukee Bucks need Giannis Antetokounmpo to attack the paint while keeping the jumper part of his game.

"I think it's big for him to be consistent with being able to knock down that mid-range jump shot," Kidd said. "It gives him another weapon besides getting to the basket and getting to the free-throw line. It's just going to make him that much more difficult to guard."

"Coach (Kidd) told me to shoot with confidence, and he told me even if I find the corner three open, shoot it and knock it down," Antetokounmpo said.

Antetokounmpo attempted 118 three-pointers as a rookie (converting 41) but has tried only 40 this season, making just seven.

"I've been working hard all year, but I think next year and the year after it's all going to make sense," Antetokounmpo said. "I'm trying to be confident in the mid-range but I didn't shoot a lot of threes this year.

"Some people are going to say it's bad. Some people are going to say it's good. I think it's good. I've been working on my threes but I didn't shoot it (in games).

"The first year I made like five mid-range jumpers. This year I'm making more. Next year I'll be more efficient in the mid-range jumper and try to work on the threes. And the fourth year try to bring all the pieces of the puzzle together."
