David Griffin has confirmed that Brandon Ingram does not have a player option in Year 5 of his contract with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Brian Windhorst of ESPN reported last week that "nobody wanted to talk about" whether Ingram had a player option.

Ingram and the Pelicans agreed to a five-year, $158 million contract in restricted free agency. Ingram can become a free agent again after the 24-25 season.

"Brandon Ingram just signed, he hasn't actually signed the contract yet, but he just agreed," said Brian Windhorst on his podcast. "To my knowledge, it hasn't been reported whether he got an option or not. My attempts to find out whether he did get an option is nobody wants to talk about it. Because it's a sensitive topic."

Ingram and the Pelicans were unable to agree to an extension before the 19-20 season. Ingram went on to have a breakout season and became an All-Star after largely being inconsistent with the Los Angeles Lakers.

If Ingram has a player option, he can become a free agent in 2024.

Frank Jackson has agreed to sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Jackson was drafted 31st overall by the New Orleans Pelicans in 2017. 

Jackson appeared in 120 games with the Pelicans over two seasons, averaging 7.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 13.5 minutes.

New Orleans waived Jackson last week.

Ingram was a restricted free agent this offseason and widely expected to re-sign with the Pelicans. Ingram declined a more modest extension offer from the Pelicans before the 19-20 season.

The Pelicans acquired Ingram from the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2019 offseason and emerged as an All-Star in 2020 in a bigger role. 

Steven Adams has signed a two-year, $35 million extension with the New Orleans Pelicans, sources told Zach Lowe and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Pelicans previously acquired Adams for a first-round pick and two second-round picks. 

The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to sign Sindarius Thornwell to a veteran minimum contract.

Thornwell joined the Pelicans for the NBA's restart in Orlando.

The New Orleans Pelicans have signed Wenyen Gabriel to a two-year deal with a team option in Year 2. Gabriel will be on the veteran's minimum. 

Gabriel finished last season with the Portland Trail Blazers after a trade from the Sacramento Kings.

Gabriel went undrafted in 2018 out of Kentucky.

Willy Hernangomez has agreed to sign a one-year, minimum contract with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Hernangomez averaged 6.1 points and 4.3 rebounds last season. 

The New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder are finalizing a trade centered on Steven Adams. The Pelicans will send a 2023 lottery protected first round pick they recently received from the Denver Nuggets to the Thunder, as well as two future second round picks.

Adams is entering the final season of a four-year, $100 million extension with the Thunder in 2016.

The Pelicans lost Derrick Favors in free agency on Friday while Oklahoma City traded for Al Horford.

Royce Young of ESPN reports that the Pelicans tried to trade for Adams during the 2019 offseason after the Thunder traded away Paul George and Russell Westbrook.

Derrick Favors has agreed to sign with the Utah Jazz on a three-year, deal worth nearly $30 million.

Favors was traded by the Jazz to the New Orleans Pelicans last offseason.
