DaQuan Jeffries will miss an extended period of time with a Grade 3 left ankle sprain.

Jeffries was slated to key rotation role with the Sacramento Kings entering this season.

The Sacramento Kings signed Chimezie Metu to a two-way contract, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The 23-year-old Metu was waived by the Spurs in November.

The Sacramento Kings released Frank Kaminsky on Saturday.

Luke Walton added that he expects this current roster to be the one they will enter the season with.

The Sacramento Kings are looking to receive draft compensation in any trade involving Buddy Hield, sources told Ian Begley of SNY.

No trade involving Hield was imminent as of earlier this week.

The Kings recently said they felt they were on the same page as Hield after Bogdan Bogdanovic signed with the Hawks. 

Begley adds that it is unknown whether the Knicks would be interested in a trade for Hield, or would be willing to give up draft picks in a deal. 

The Sacramento Kings have picked up the fourth-year option on Marvin Bagley III, sources told Jason Jones of The Athletic.

Bagley, who played 13 games last year due to injuries, will earn $11.3 million next season.

The Kings also signed second-round pick Jahmi'us Ramsey to a three-year contract. 

The Atlanta Hawks offered the Sacramento Kings a 2022 first round pick belonging to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a sign-and-trade for Bogdan Bogdanovic, sources tell Sam Amick of The Athletic.

The Kings rejected the offer, which led the Hawks to be concerned that their four-year, $72 million offer sheet to Bogdanovic would be matched.

The pick from the Thunder is lottery protected in 2022 and converts to second rounders in 2024 and 2025 if it doesn't convey as a first rounder. With the Thunder entering a rebuild, the pick is likely to convert to two second rounders, which could be valuable if they have a prolonged rebuild.

The Kings decided not to match the offer sheet due to the logjam with Buddy Hield and Tyrese Haliburton.
