Mike Brown Brings Laptop To Postgame Press Conference To Show Missed Calls

Jan 15, 2024 9:17 AM

Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown was ejected from his team's game at the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. That ejection will come with a fine, but Brown may be facing an even bigger one after his postgame tactics with the media.

Brown brought a laptop with him and went through a fairly detailed analysis or what he thought were some incorrect calls throughout the game. Brown also detailed out a couple of call he didn't display on the laptop.

What had the Kings coaches and players really upset was what they felt was a disparity in the officiating, especially in the first half. Milwaukee took 19 first-half free throws, compared to five for Sacramento.

Kings guard Malik Monk was aware of his coach's postgame venting, but was wary of saying too much himself.

"I don't want to get fined. But they miss a lot of calls with us. That's all I'm going to say," said Monk.

Kings Have Zero Interest In Discussing Keegan Murray In Trades

Jan 12, 2024 10:08 PM

The Sacramento Kings have shown zero interest in discussing Keegan Murray in trade scenarios, sources tell Zach Lowe of ESPN.

Murray is averaging 19.2 points on 53 percent shooting from the floor and 45 percent on three-pointers over the past month.

Murray is only in Year 2 of his rookie deal, giving the Kings an affordable cornerstone with considerable remaining upside. Murray is also versatile positionally with his ability to defend four positions.

The Kings selected Murray with the fourth overall pick in 2022.

Kings Pessimistic On Odds Of Re-Signing Pascal Siakam

Jan 10, 2024 12:35 PM

The Sacramento Kings have very little optimism of re-signing Pascal Siakam in the offseason should they trade for him, two sources tell Sam Amick of The Athletic.

The Kings and Toronto Raptors began ramping up discussions on a Siakam trade last week before Sacramento abruptly pulled of talks. The Kings reportedly have reservations about signing Siakam to a max contract in free agency.

Siakam will be seeking a full-term, max salary contract in free agency.

Sources also tell The Athletic that Siakam doesn't view the Kings as a good long-term fit.

Kings Pull Out Of Trade Talks With Raptors On Pascal Siakam

Jan 5, 2024 10:01 PM

After the Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors ramped up discussions on a Pascal Siakam trade, the Kings decided to pull out of those talks.

The Kings were previously described by Shams Charania as a "serious suitor" and that they have a "gaining interest."

Siakam is on an expiring contract and his willingness to sign long-term with a team interested in trading for him will go a long ways in getting a deal done.
