Duncan is averaging just 8.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game this season but he remains a key part of the Spurs' defense.

The Spurs don't have a publicly available timeline for when Duncan will return.

LaMarcus Aldridge Deletes Social Media, Wanting To Lock In

Jan 28, 2016 12:43 PM

LaMarcus Aldridge deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts following the San Antonio Spurs' loss this week to the Golden State Warriors.

“I just wanted to lock in,” Aldridge said Wednesday after both he and his team bounced back with a 130-99 victory over Houston. “It had nothing to do with that game.”

Aldridge watched the tape from Golden State and saw a team he didn’t recognize.

“That wasn’t us,” Aldridge said.

Aldridge received criticism on social media for his performance in the Warriors' game.

“It’s a new adventure for me (joining the Spurs),” Aldridge said. “I’ve never been on a top 2 team in the West. I just wanted to lock in.”

Gregg Popovich Takes Shot At Cavs After His Own Blowout Loss To Warriors

Jan 26, 2016 1:35 PM

Gregg Popovich alluded to the Cleveland Cavaliers' decision to fire David Blatt after the San Antonio Spurs lost to the Golden State Warriors 120-90.

The Warriors blew out the Cavaliers last week by 34 points and their general manager, David Griffin, talked about how the mood in their locker room after games was poor and disconnected. The Cavaliers largely decided to fire Blatt upon that issue.

"I'm just glad my general manager wasn't in the locker room because it might have gotten me fired," said Popovich.

Kevin Durant: We Can Achieve Same Result As Spurs Without Tons Of Passing

Jan 25, 2016 2:31 PM

Kevin Durant spoke about the differences between the Oklahoma City Thunder offense and the ball movement of the San Antonio Spurs.

"Look, we're not the San Antonio Spurs. We're not going to make 30 passes in a possession. We're not that," said Durant. "Of course people want us to be that. That's great basketball, don't get me wrong, but we're not that. We've got guys that can score. we've got two guys on this team that can get a bucket. There's going to be times we gotta ISO. There's going to be times we gotta be aggressive to look for our shot or make a play.

"But basketball is simple, when you got a guy that can get into the paint, that's what San Antonio wants to do, but they've got guys, multiple guys that'll pass, pass, dribble, get to the paint. But we've got guys, Russell, myself, Dion, Cameron Payne, we can get into the paint, kick out or dump down for a layup. That's ultimately what you want, get the defense off balance, drive, kick, make the right play. Simple basketball, but we just don't make five or six passes before we do it sometimes. And that's not a knock against us I don't think. We've got dynamic guys that can play and do different things on the floor, I think that's to your advantage."

Stephen Curry: Spurs Are The Standard

Jan 23, 2016 7:03 PM

The San Antonio Spurs play the Golden State Warriors for the first time this season in a highly anticipated game between the two best teams in the NBA.

The Spurs have a +15.4 Efficiency Differential compared to +12.1 for the Warriors.

“I know them pretty well,” Steve Kerr said. “It’s remarkable to me that I’m 50 years old and have been retired for 13 years, and they have three guys and a coach who are still on that team.

“It makes no sense. The continuity and the program they’ve built is amazing.”

The Spurs have won five titles between 1999 and 2014.

“That’s why they’re legends or why they’re going to be legends when they’re done,” Stephen Curry said. “Obviously, those three guys and Coach Popovich are the main foundation of that, but they’ve been able to add pieces as they’ve gone through their careers and stay at a high level. It’s a lot about the tone and atmosphere and expectations that they set.

“When you wear a Spurs uniform, you better be ready to elevate your game to their level. That’s the most impressive thing. … They’re the standard.”
