The Utah Jazz have signed Henry Sims.

Sims averaged 6.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and one block in 14 games for the Brooklyn Nets last season.

Before joining the Nets, Sims started for the D-League's Grand Rapids Drive (15.7 points, 8.9 rebounds). In all, Sims has also played for New Orleans, Cleveland, Philadelphia of the NBA and Erie and Canton of the NBADL.

The Utah Jazz have promoted Richard Smith to executive director of international scouting and Bart Taylor to Jazz director of scouting/Salt Lake City Stars vice president of basketball operations.

Smith is promoted to executive director of international scouting and will now head the Jazz’s global scouting efforts. He is entering his 22nd year with the organization having worked in a variety of capacities within basketball operations. For the past three seasons he served as the Jazz executive director of player services, following prior stints as director of basketball operations, director of scouting services, video coordinator and advance scout. 

As Jazz director of scouting/Stars vice president of basketball operations, Taylor will serve the dual role of coordinating the Jazz’s scouting efforts while also directing all basketball-related decisions for the Jazz-owned NBA Development League team, which is set to begin its inaugural season in Utah in November. Now in his fifth season with the Jazz, Taylor had most recently served as the Jazz coordinator of scouting. 

The Utah Jazz are hosting Jabari Brown for a workout.

Brown played 19 games in the 14-15 season with the Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 12.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 29.9 minutes. Brown has also played for the Lakers in Summer League in each of the past two seasons.

Brown averaged 32.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists over 27 games in China last season.

The Utah Jazz currently have 14 guaranteed contracts on their roster.

The 15th spot is expected to go to Jeff Withey, who has a contract that will become guaranteed in January.

Withey averaged 4.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 12.9 minutes over 51 games last season with the Jazz.

Withey was an early second round pick in 2013 out of Kansas. 

The Utah Jazz have signed Quincy Ford to a partially guaranteed deal.

Ford, a 6-foot-8 small forward out of Northeastern, will attend training camp with a $75,000 guarantee, and is expected to be on the Salt Lake City Stars roster, Utah's D-League affiliate.

The Jazz like Ford's versatility ability to play multiple positions and his positional size. 

Ford went undrafted out of Northeastern, but impressed several teams including the Jazz.
