The Phoenix Suns have interest in trading for Miles Bridges of the Charlotte Hornets, reports Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic. Bridges is one of up to 10 players that the Suns have interest in ahead of the February 8 trade deadline.

Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reports that the Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons are also interested in trading for Bridges. 

Bridges has a no-trade clause for this season, because he will lose his Bird Rights if he's traded. This is because Bridges is on a one-year deal with Bird Rights following this season. Because he'll be looking for a bigger contract than his Non-Bird Rights would allow for, Bridges would be considered a rest-of-season rental by Phoenix.

The Suns are also aware that Bridges has off-court issues that need to be handled. He has a pending court date for next month for allegedly violating a protection order stemming from the same domestic violence incident in 2022 that saw him receive a 30-game suspension from the NBA.

Another challenge in trading for Bridges is that the Hornets reportedly are looking for draft picks in any deal. Phoenix is limited in what they can trade, due to having traded several picks in deals to acquire Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal in the last year.

Quentin Grimes is drawing trade interest from the Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Utah Jazz, and Houston Rockets, according to Ian Begley of SNY.

The Knicks reportedly want to upgrade their bench and are looking for another ballhandler to add depth behind Jalen Brunson.

The Knicks also have been linked with Bruce Brown and Jordan Clarkson. 

The Indiana Pacers reached out to the Utah Jazz about the potential availability of Lauri Markkanen before they eventually pivoted to a trade for Pascal Siakam, sources tell Zach Lowe of ESPN.

The Jazz showed zero interest in trading Markkanen, sources tell Lowe.

Markkanen has emerged as an All-Star since joining the Jazz and by all accounts they would need a team to grossly overpay to consider moving him.

Markkanen is signed through the 24-25 season and has expressed interest in remaining with the Jazz long-term.

The New York Knicks have registered interest in Jordan Clarkson, sources told Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

The Knicks are also rumored to be interested in Bruce Brown, and have previously been linked with Malcolm Brogdon, Terry Rozier, and Alec Burks.

The team is looking for another ballhandler alongside Jalen Brunson.

The Knicks are also reportedly actively seeking offers for Quentin Grimes. 

The Los Angeles Lakers are known to be looking for upgrades on the trade market. A particular area of interest seems to be in adding to the backcourt.

Two players the Lakers might target are Tyus Jones of the Washington Wizards and Collin Sexton of the Utah Jazz. Jones is known to be available, while Sexton's status is more unclear due to Utah's recent run of strong play.

Jones in on an expiring $14 million contract. The Wizards are in the first season of what looks to be a multi-year rebuild. Jones has started all 39 games for Washington this season. He's averaging career-highs nearly across the board with 12.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 52% from the field and 42% from behind the arc.

Sexton is making $17.3 million this season and has $37.1 million left on his deal through 2025-26. The Jazz have won six games in a row and 12 of their last 14 games. It's unclear if Utah will want to move Sexton, who has been a key scorer since moving into the starting lineup in mid-December.

Earlier this season as the Utah Jazz were struggling, there were reports that they could consider listening to trade offers for Lauri Markkanen. The talk was loud enough for Markkanen to be asked about it and he expressed a desire to remain with the Jazz.

The Jazz have subsequently played better with Markkanen continuing to play at an All-Star level.

During a Q&A on Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski was asked about a potential Markkanen trade.

"The Jazz seem determined to keep building a roster around Markkanen," replied Wojnarowski. 

Markkanen can become a free agent in 2025 if he doesn't sign an extension before then.

Wednesday's game between the Golden State Warriors and Utah Jazz has been postponed by the NBA due to a medical emergency in the Warriors family.

Assistant coach Dejan Milojevic is currently hospitalized in Salt Lake City after suffering a sudden and serious health issue.

The date for the rescheduled game will be announced at a later time.

Lauri Markkanen and Bam Adebayo have been named the NBA's Players of the Week for Week 12.

Markkanen averaged 24.5 points and 11.0 rebound as the Utah Jazz went 4-0.

Adebayo averaged 23.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 5.8 assists as the Miami Heat went 3-1.

The Utah Jazz have agreed to a two-way contract with guard Jason Preston. The Jazz opened a two-way roster spot when they waived guard Josh Christopher on Monday.

Preston spent his first two NBA seasons with the LA Clippers, before being waived this offseason. The 6-foot-3 point guard has played for the Memphis Hustle of the G League this season.

In 17 G League games, Preston has averaged 12.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
