Wednesday was the third day of the 2011 D-League Showcase, held this season in South Padre Island.

Bakersfield 105, Fort Wayne 93

The Bakersfield Jam (12-8) used a strong run over the second and third periods to beat the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (12-9) on Wednesday afternoon. Derrick Byars led with 18 points and six rebounds, Jeremy Wise posted 13 points and seven assists and Trey Johnson added 15 points and six boards. Bakersfield held Fort Wayne to 37.8% shooting and had a +8 rebounding differential. Walker Russell had 25 points and eight assists, Darnell Lazare tallied 11 points and 13 rebounds and Roderick Wilmont scored 16 points on 6-for-11 shooting.

Reno 111, Maine 102

The Maine Red Claws (10-12) rallied late, but didn’t have enough to defeat the Reno Bighorns (12-8). Marcus Landry starred with 29 points and five rebounds, Anthony Richardson tallied 13 points and 10 boards and Donald Sloan put up 15 points and 10 assists. Reno shot 54.3% from the field and attempted 16 more foul shots. Paul Harris had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Mario West posted 17 points and six boards and Jamar Smith chipped in 16 points before fouling out.

Tulsa 96, Dakota 92

The Tulsa 66ers (16-6) held off the Dakota Wizards (6-16) at the South Padre Island Convention Centre. Cole Aldrich had 19 points and five rebounds, Tweety Carter posted 18 points and six assists and Elijah Millsap scored 15 points on 3-for-8 shooting. Dakota had a +13 rebounding differential, while Tulsa went 24-for-29 from the charity stripe. Anthony Goods scored a team-high 22 points, Walter Sharpe tallied 21 points and 10 rebounds and Chris Johnson totaled 13 points and 11 boards in the loss.

Vipers 124, Bayhawks 106

The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (13-7) jumped out to an early lead against the Erie Bayhawks (14-7) and recorded a win. Jerel McNeal led with 27 points, seven assists and five rebounds, Jeff Adrien tallied 20 points and 16 boards and Richard Roby added 27 points and six rebounds. Rio Grande Valley had a +13 rebounding differential and attempted 12 more foul shots. Ivan Johnson had 25 points and five rebounds, Tasmin Mitchell posted 20 points and Nate Linhart contributed 17 points and five boards in defeat.
