One of many hurdles Memphis needs to clear to get the arena it needs for relocation of the Grizzlies passed Tuesday.  A senate panel recommended approval of a car rental tax that will raise $25 of the $250 million for a new arena.  It was the first senate vote on funding for the publicly-funded arena.  Meanwhile, season ticket commitments appear to be moving.  The Pursuit Team is holding off on any announcements until Friday, saying the NBA wants to be involved with any announcements.  Deposits are $100 and $250, although a pricing structure hasn't been determined.  Letters to the editor show Memphis citizens evenly divided about funding the arena.
