The Indianapolis Star reports that Indiana Pacers president Donnie Walsh continues to look at acquiring a seasoned center. "I like my team, I really do, but I would feel even better about it if we could add another big man," Walsh said Thursday. Nate Huffman (7-1, 240 pounds) is regarded as promising offensively but lacking defensively. He recently worked out for the Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Huffman played last season for Maccabi Elite Tel-Aviv in the FIBA SuproLeague. He played at Central Michigan from 1995-97.

Walsh acknowledged that Huffman has a ways to go on defense, which makes him similar to the Pacers' European-born centers, Primoz Brezec and Bruno Sundov. Should Huffman be invited to the veterans camp that begins Oct. 2 at the fieldhouse, he would compete with Brezec, Sundov, Jeff Foster and possibly Jermaine O'Neal for playing time.
