The AP reports: As the Charlotte Hornets prepare to open training camp, it's sounding more and more like this could be their last season in North Carolina.

The Hornets have been rumored to be leaving Charlotte at the end of the year and co-owner Ray Wooldridge admitted Monday he has had talks with at least one other city. Recent reports have indicated he and owner George Shinn have talked to groups from Louisville, Ky., and Norfolk, Va., about relocating the team.

"I haven't spoken with anyone in Norfolk. I have spoken with people in Louisville," Wooldridge said. "We have a sincere interest in working something out in Charlotte, but I don't know how that's going to get done."

Wooldridge says the only way the Hornets can stay in the city is if something is worked out for a new arena to replace the coliseum, which was built in 1988 and lacks the luxury suites the newer NBA venues have.

Wooldridge said selling the team is not an option at this time.

"You can never say you wouldn't sell a team, but we're not interested in selling," he said. "I can tell you now, I am not going to sell. George is committed, we're not selling our interest in the team."
