  For the better part of the last two exhibition games, the Pistons have struggled with their transition defense. For the better part of the three-hour plus practice on Monday, they worked at trying to improve their transition defense.
  Tonight, they get to put their work to the ultimate test. Jason Kidd, arguably the best transition point guard in the league, leads his New Jersey Nets into The Palace at 7:30.
  "I know this, the best test of transition defense is Jason Kidd," Pistons Coach Rick Carlisle said. "This game comes at a good time."
