While contract details kept Anthony Mason out of a Milwaukee uniform Tuesday, the all-star forward could sign with the Bucks as early as Wednesday.

"This is going to get done, barring dramatic, unforeseen circumstances," Don Cronson, Mason's agent, said Tuesday.

If Mason and the Bucks agree to terms today, the earliest he could join the team would be Thursday in Los Angeles because he would first have to pass a physical in Milwaukee. The Bucks are practicing at Loyola Marymount University the next two days in preparation for a pair of exhibition games at the Staples Center.

At the most, Mason would have just five days to work with the Bucks before the regular season opens Tuesday night at Utah.

"We're making good progress," Bucks general manager Ernie Grunfeld said. "These things just take a little bit of time. We're continuing to talk, and hopefully things will work out."
