Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer reports: Of all the people in the Carolinas, there may be only one who believes that the Charlotte Hornets' trade sending Derrick Coleman away forever was a bad idea.

That one person matters, though. He is the Hornets' most dazzling player and starting point guard.

His name is Baron Davis, and he's not happy.

Man, I'm going to miss the dude," Davis said. "I'm happy for him since he's happy. I talked to him (Thursday). He's going to start in Philly and have a great year. But selfishly, I want him here."

Coach Paul Silas didn't want Coleman here. Silas has smiled the past two days like a man who won the lottery, found true love and bought an HDTV, all in the same afternoon.

He was never going to get a fair shake here," Davis said of Coleman. "There was lots of negative energy."
"Oftentimes when there's a trade, it's like there's a death in the family," Silas said. "There's a period of mourning for the deceased. You mourn, and you go on."
