Tim Floyd is an angry man.  In response to Sam Smith's article posted yesterday stating that Floyd is in a power struggle with Bulls GM Jerry Krause on the Bulls Floyd was irrate to put it bluntly.  He is not deliberately sitting the rookies to make Krause look bad, and he has never got anyone fired - and Jerry Krause will not become his first.

"Be right occasionally with your theories. They're a crock. People typically write what a guy says because they can count on what a guy says. This is bull about trying to get a guy fired. It's a crock."

Floyd was angered at Smith for the article, with Lacy Banks noting that he hadn't heard a Bulls coach so angry since Doug Collins' days of rage in the late 1980s.  He said that playing Trenton Hassell, a second round pick, makes Krause's talent finding skills look superior, and that the high schoolers are not playing because they simply are not ready.  Looks like Smith sure has hit a sore spot.

"That makes a lot of sense. You're the losingest coach in the league's history and you're going to try to get your boss fired? So the next guy can come in? Don't they typically hire their own guy? No, [they'll say], 'I want to keep this guy who hasn't done anything.' It's ridiculous."

"A lot of these young guys aren't playing very much," Floyd said. "Kwame Brown isn't playing very much. I noticed Darius Miles played 12 minutes [Wednesday] night. The coach must be trying to force the general manager out. Jonathan Bender played 12 minutes. I think Isiah [Thomas] is trying to force his general manager out."
