The freefalling Raptors met behind closed doors to air their beefs and share their grief yesterday and only time will tell if the off-court assembly will have any impact on their on-court performance.

"Talk is cheap," Vince Carter announced after the club's players-only therapy session and noon-hour practice at the Air Canada Centre. "It's our fault and we need to go out there and fix it."

The meeting was apparently called by veteran forward Antonio Davis in the wake of the club's 93-88 loss Sunday afternoon to the Washington Wizards, the Raptors' fourth setback in a row and sixth in their last seven games.

"Things aren't as bad as people are making it, but they are bad," Davis opined following practice. "We understand there's a problem and it was time to talk about it. I don't think there was anything said that we didn't already know, but sometimes it's good to sit down and look each other in the face and be accountable for what's going on. I really feel a lot of good came out of it because everybody had a chance to say what they had to say."
