First, you notice his hair. Then, you notice his game.

Ben Wallace has lots of both.

The Detroit Pistons' rugged forward, who sports a few unique hairdos, is the only NBA player among the top 20 in blocks, rebounds and steals.

Wallace ranks first in blocks (3.23 per game), fourth in rebounds (11.7) and 18th in steals (1.68).

He has found a way to be noticed around the league without making highlights with three-pointers, dazzling moves or dunks.

"He is a power forward version of Jason Kidd," said Orlando Magic coach Doc Rivers, who coached Wallace for a season. "He is a guy that doesn't need to score to help his team. He is a guy who can dominate a game without scoring. And he is probably a guy that everybody in the league would love to play with, just like Jason Kidd."
