The record said that the Lakers were 16-2 with Lindsey Hunter as their starting point guard, 12-9 without.

With the Lakers slumping, Coach Phil Jackson replaced Derek Fisher, the team's third-leading scorer, in the lineup with Hunter. After the victory over San Antonio, 94-91, on Friday night, expect Hunter to stay with the first five, according to the Orange County Register.

The goal was to inject the starting unit with Hunter's speed and "striking ability," as Jackson called it. Plus, the Lakers get Fisher's experience in the triangle offense to stabilize the second unit.

"It worked well in the second quarter," Jackson said. "It'll be better."

Fisher wasn't thrilled about the change, though. He had no comment when asked about it after the game.
