Eddie Jones' last-second jumper in front of Detroit's bench with .1 second left ended a dramatic, hard-fought game that had a playoff atmosphere.

Jones pump-faked Michael Curry, and scored over the outstretched hand of Damon Jones, giving the Heat a 93-91 win Tuesday night before 16,279 at the Palace.

"He's great at going left," Curry said of Jones. "I tried to make him rush and shoot against the clock. We knew they were either going to him or Alonzo. He ran a little flare route with him catching it and going left. . . . I just tried to jump and shake him on his shot. I can second-guess myself . . . Maybe if I had stayed down, but I thought my jumping would affect his shot and make him force it against the clock. He made a good shot."

Said Jones: "I was supposed to step to the foul line and get the ball. I saw the guy was trailing me, so I just faked the screen and curled on out. I knew I had time. Three seconds in this game; that's like a lifetime. I knew I could get a fake dribble and the shot just went down. I just think it was a case where we wanted it a little bit more."

The win improved the Heat to 26-32 while the Pistons fell to 34-24.
