It was one of the strangest plays in the league this year or any other.

A flagrant foul was called against one Miami player and a personal foul on another -- both on the same play.

With 8:44 left in the fourth, Jerry Stackhouse drove to the basket and was fouled by Brian Grant. As he spun away, Stackhouse also was hit by Anthony Carter, sending Stackhouse spinning to the floor in pain, where he lay for a few minutes. Grant picked up a personal foul and Carter was tagged with a flagrant foul. Stackhouse made all three free throws and the Pistons kept possession.

However, Jon Barry was called for an offensive foul and a technical with 8:31 to play.

Neither team's officials could remember a flagrant and personal foul being called on the same play.
