Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald reports that Dana Barros may not be long for this world. The NBA world, that is.

The former Boston College standout is on Detroit's injured list with a pulled left hamstring, and his prospects for getting active soon are not good. According to Barros, his prospects for a 14th season in the NBA are flickering.

"If I can't get healthy, there's no decision to make," said the soon-to-be 35-year-old guard. "If I don't feel like I can go out and play all-out and fly up and down the court, I don't care how much they're paying me. I don't want to just sit there and collect. I want to be involved in it."

"I mean, I got issues with my left side, from surgery on my ankle straight through back problems to nerve problems - all because of playing through injuries," he said. "So I've got to get that straightened out before anything happens. I'm not going to play if I'm just going to be hurt. I can't stand this, man. This is driving me crazy."

On the other hand, if he can get his body right, Barros does not want to leave before his contributing days are through.
