Timberwolves forward Gary Trent, ejected in the third quarter Wednesday's game against the Houston Rockets, got good news and bad news Thursday afternoon.

The good: The NBA rescinded the flagrant foul called when he chopped down on Houston forward Kenny Thomas under the basket, meaning Trent has only four flagrant "points'' this season.

Six flagrant "points'' results in an automatic suspension and fine.

The bad: The league fined Trent $3,000 for "unsportsmanlike conduct'' for scattering a booklet of papers all over the game floor after he immediately picked up a technical foul for arguing against the flagrant call and was ejected.

The technical foul stands and will cost Trent an additional $500.
