OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Clippers hope to inch closer to a playoff berth and hand the Golden State Warriors a season-high eighth straight defeat when they meet for the third time this season on Thursday.

The Clippers are 1 1/2 games behind Utah for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. They have won five of their last seven games, including a 93-86 triumph over Houston on Monday.

Michael Olowokandi had 26 points and 11 rebounds and Elton Brand had 20 and 12 for the Clippers, who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Golden State is in the throes of its third seven-game losing streak of the season following a 110-93 setback at Seattle on Tuesday.

Danny Forston led six players in double figures with 21 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in his first game back since a two-game suspension for exceeding the maximum number of flagrant foul points.

The Warriors have not lost eight straight since a 13-game losing streak at the end of last season.

The teams split their two prior meetings this season, with each winning on the road. Golden State is just 1-6 in its last seven home games against Los Angeles since the start of the 1997-98 campaign.
