Former Hawks general manager and executive vice president Pete Babcock said Thursday he is interested in making a return to the league in some capacity sooner rather than later.

Babcock has been out of work since April 2, when he was relieved of his duties after 13 years with the team. But this week, front office positions have opened in Portland, New Orleans and Washington.

"I haven't had any conversation with any team, [but] I'm certainly open to it," he said. "I still have a great passion for the NBA, and would love to continue working."
