Hiram Fuller is convinced that his participation in the Indiana Pacers' minicamp the past three days was the product of serendipity.

It certainly wasn't the result of some calculated move on Fuller's part. Saturday afternoon, as the three-day camp came to an end, he was still pinching himself.

After leaving the floor at Conseco Fieldhouse, Fuller was still shaking his head at what had transpired on the floor -- mainly an opportunity to trade wits and elbows with Pacers forward Ron Artest, who worked out with the rookies and free agents for the second consecutive year.

"Right now I'm just lost in the moment," Fuller said. "This arena is ridiculously big and I can't believe I'm seeing Ron Artest and playing with him. Man, I didn't play organized basketball until I was a junior in high school. I was just going to ride my height out as far as it would take me and the next thing you know, I'm here."

Fuller, a 6-9, 240-pound forward from Fresno State, more than held his own during the twice-daily workouts. His knack for finding the ball in rebounding situations separated him from the pack.
