SEATTLE (AP) Los Angeles Lakers center Shaquille O'Neal left Friday night's game at Seattle with a strained right calf and wasn't expected to return.

A team spokeswoman said the injury flared up after bothering O'Neal earlier this week. O'Neal was treated by a trainer at the end of the first quarter. He returned to play most of the second period, then took himself out 5:06 before halftime.

O'Neal, averaging 20.6 points, 11.8 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 35.8 minutes, went straight for the locker room and didn't return. He had six points and five rebounds in 14 minutes.
