According to Peter Vecsey of the New York Post Mark Cuban was seriously considering making a run for disgruntled Net Jason Kidd once his knee was healthy.  Although, according to Vecsey, no actual trade discussions took place between Cuban's Mavericks and New Jersey, this was back in early August and a lot has changed since then, especially to Dallas.

The acquisition of legitimate center Erick Dampier from Golden State has turned upside down any plans on moves which could affect the immediate future, Kidd included.

Dampier gives Don Nelson his first legit center to coach since Bob Lanier, and both he and Cuban love their team in its current form.  Its reconstruction, Cuban vows, has been completed.
