The Charlotte Bobcats today waived forward/center Jamal Sampson, it was announced by Bobcats General Manager and Head Coach Bernie Bickerstaff.  The Bobcats active roster now stands at 11 players.

Sampson appeared in 23 games this season with averages of 3.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 14.3 minutes.  He posted a career-high 10 points on January 7 at Orlando and grabbed a personal-best 12 rebounds at the L.A. Lakers on January 30.

Originally drafted by Utah with the 47th overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft, Sampson had his draft rights traded on draft night to Milwaukee and appeared in five games.  He signed with the Lakers as a free agent on July 24, 2003 and appeared in 10 games last season.  He was acquired by the Bobcats in the Charlotte Expansion Selection on June 22, 2004.
