Despite rejecting the Bulls' initial contract offer, Chris Duhon's agent will meet Friday with general manager John Paxson, and both sides are confident a deal can be reached soon.

Bill Duffy, representing Duhon, scheduled the face-to-face meeting to counter the proposal the Bulls made on the first day of NBA free agency a week ago. A restricted free agent who enjoyed a surprising rookie season as a starter for a playoff team, Duhon is seeking a three-year contract worth about $6 million.

Asked during an interview on WSCR-AM, Paxson said the Bulls "could not be aggressive" pursing free agents if Duhon signs as the team hopes.
